About Us

Hi. My name is Jim Linz and I'm a Decoholic. I've been collecting Art Deco for over 30 years and selling for about 15 years. Initially, I sold strictly through Modernism shows such as the Art Deco Society of Washington's Exposition of 20th Century Decorative Arts, Queen City Shows' 20th Century Cincinnati, and M & M Enterprise's Michigan Modernism Exposition. I've also dabbled in mall booths and showcases, exhibiting at the Beaver Creek Antique Mall in Hagerstown, Maryland and the Atlanta Antique Gallery in Chamblee, Georgia. I am the author of four books on Art Deco and mid-century collectibles: Art Deco Chrome, Electrifying Time: Telechron and GE Clocks, 1925-1955, Westclox Windup, and Westclox Electric, all published by Schiffer Books. It was during my research for those books that I became fascinated with design patents, spending days on end at the U.S. Patent Office searching through their microfiche and paper records. I am currently working on a series of books on automotive design based on my continuing search of patent records.
