This example of the Dura vase has an unidentified decorative shield on one side of the black plastic. The plastic is of the Bakelite/Catalin family but is likely Plaskon. The step down base is of Dura metal, also used on clock cases by Telechron and Westclox. This vase was likely produced during the period when Helen Dryden served as head of design. The Dura Company was primarily an auto parts manufacturer, producing such accessories as door handles and heaters.
